The Basque Museum of Gastronomy was inaugurated in April 1994 by the Consortium of the Basque Museum of Gastronomy, comprising the Regional Government of Alava and the town hall of Llodio.

Zubiko Etxea, the building in which it is housed, is a large old 19 th C. three-storey house with an extensive landscaped area.

The museum faithfully watches over the visitors who come to view the past and present of Basque gastronomy from its different eras, displaying kitchens from years gone by and machines designed for preparing food.

A stroll around the curiosities and details which this world provides, ranging from kitchen utensils and work uniforms to parts donated by the finest restaurants and most emblematic cooks from Basque gastronomy.
